Moreno is fine - in fact he is more than fine, he is brilliant. He is so good in fact we set him up with his very own web site:
http://morenosworld.com
Yesterday was his first birthday. We have had him for five months now and it is great just how well he looks and how much fun he is to have around.
He has started to sit in the bath and watch the water so that is where his day started. He then had some breakfast and a play before opening and playing with his presents. Next up was a run around on the roof followed by a kip before his BBQ of steak and shrimp. Another play and then he crashed for the day - a very very happy cat!!!
I shot a movie but it wont upload to this site for some reason, so if you want to see it head over to our web site In the meantime though here are a few pictures of his day. More on Flickr, or subscribe to the photocast
And a few of us with Moreno, and Sandra's mum talking to my parents in Florida over Skype with video:
We weighed Moreno for the first time today. Not sure why we haven't done it before - maybe because when we got him we would have got depressed as he was so thin
Anyway it is his first birthday on Saturday so we weighed him this morning - a very solid, healthy 5 kilo's!!!
I haven't posted much at all recently, and I certainly haven't put up much on Moreno. The last I can rectify now - the former, well I am having a weekend catching up with all the stuff I have let slip so who knows I may post some more stuff.
Anyway these three movies on Moreno will have to do for now:
In the first one he is back to his best with the sink, somehow trying to make the water stop.
In the second he has just had a harness fitted so that Sands could take him down to a neighbours. Needless to say he wasn't that impressed, but it was REALLY funny.
In the third he showed off a new skill with the filing cabinet - very impressive.
Enjoy
- he just loves to play with the feather duster when we clean,
- now we aren't feeding doves on roof as much a few are coming down to my study window to feed, which of course he loves!, and
- he goes mad with an old sock of mine. He is almost like a dog. In this movie he is jumping through the window after the sock, carrying it around the balcony and in through our bedroom patio windows, before dropping it back at my feet! I am afraid the quality isn't that good - but they are short and funny!
And as it has been a while here are a few pictures of Moreno and the Rock Doves:
As you can see he has now worked out where they are, and seems to love just getting them out of the dish and onto the floor. Doesn't often play with them, just likes to make a mess and then watch us tidy it all up.
In the meantime he has also managed to make a yellow LiveStrong Armstrong cancer band disappear! This is pretty impressive given the size and the colour.
Oh and for anyone that thought I might have commented on Domino by now - I didn't get to watch it. Sands didn't go out in the end so I will have to wait!
It has been a while since I posted something. I have actually been pretty busy, which is a little strange for me. Needless to say that a lot if it has been created by Moreno!
For some reason today he decided that my running socks (clean I will add) must have been a mouse. He picked them up in his mouth and ran around with them for at least 30 minutes. He kept jumping in and out his box, and trying to find a place to settle down and eat them. He is mad, but very very funny.
One of the reasons that I have been so busy though is that the other day he found out that he could now jump/climb onto the top of the units in our kitchen:
This isn't a problem on the units above the sink as they are flush to the wall, but the other side (1st picture) have the fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave built in so (as we found out!) there is actually a gap running down the back of the units or varying width. Moreno found it! Don't think he was stuck as such, but he didn't seem able to get out so step ladders, a very tight squeeze, and one startled looking cat later I had pulled him back up. Of course he waited until 11pm to do all this. To stop him going back down we tried to keep him out of the kitchen and put some wooden trays across the top of the units weighted down with a very heavy baking tray. CRASH - he managed to get in and now the baking tray is stuck behind the units! He was OK, but a little startled. Anway we have now put some wood across the top and covered the gaps, so he has a new place to play. He can get down on hos own from the side bby the sink (2nd picture) but seems to need help from the other side.
Sands has had me putting up some window blinds (7 in total) and a neighbour has just bought one as well so I haven't finished that chore yet!
As for January, it was really quiet and very healthy. Lost 9lbs and my running is getting better - and I still haven't shaved! No reason. Strangely enough it isn't itching or bohering me like it has before so am just seeing what happens. Is kinda strange to have a beard that I can comb!!!!
I think that about brings me back up to speed :-)
Actually it doesn't! As you know I love 24 and I love gadgets so this site made me smile.
Here he goes again! Saturday we got some stuff sent over from the US, so of course we needed some help opening it!
He is so into anything that he can get his paws on, or in. He is always trying to open things, get into things and combined with his teeth he is pretty impressive.
What was really funny was that the polystyrene still retained a lot of static, so none of us could shake it off very easily.
Now, I know I am biased but I think he is really smart, very inquisitive and amazingly handsome!
When I was growing up we had cats - but with the exception of a few pictures I have to rely on my memories. Moreno is helping bring back those memories, and so with him I want to have as many reminders as possible.
