Was a very quick read, nothing substantial at all and somewhat frustrating the way things "just happened" - made life seem very easy!!
Had more potential as a concept than it fulfilled.
Just watched Inside Man. Sands choice - good one. Slightly strange, but came good towards the end.
Watched Casino Royale last night.
Enjoyed it - was a better bond that many before it, really a modern day Sean Connery. What they did with the original book was pretty good as well - I wonder what they will do next? Start remaking some of the old ones?
It is slightly morbid here at the moment. As I look out the window there are a number of small boats and a helicopter searching the water for a missing diver.
It seems that on Monday two boys went out diving in the really rough weather and got into trouble. One has been rescued but the other is missing, so they are searching for his body.
Is sad and weird - you read (and hear) about these searches but to see one so close is not good. Is all rather sad and pathetic in a way - no 'big' search and rescue, and it is so close to the marina that it seems unbelievable that they got into trouble in the first place.
I am exhausted. My mother in law has just spent a week with us. Not only did she bring over a cough and cold for me, but she has kept me awake every night with her snoring, coughing and talking to herself.
Add to that the fact that she is constantly talking to herself during the day, or starting conversations with you from another room and it meant getting much needed siesta was out of the question.
She isn't ill - just one of life's self appointed victims that requires a LOT of attention, and is incapable of saying anything positive or having fun.
Seriously it feels like a huge cloud has lifted now that she has gone - even Moreno seems happy. He hasn't left me at all this morning as we have cleaned the apartment whilst Sands took her mum to the airport.
Anyway the good news is that I managed to finish Rough Music:
It was OK, if you want to read about gay, dysfunctional family and alzheimers!
Yesterday was his first birthday. We have had him for five months now and it is great just how well he looks and how much fun he is to have around.
He has started to sit in the bath and watch the water so that is where his day started. He then had some breakfast and a play before opening and playing with his presents. Next up was a run around on the roof followed by a kip before his BBQ of steak and shrimp. Another play and then he crashed for the day - a very very happy cat!!!
I shot a movie but it wont upload to this site for some reason, so if you want to see it head over to our web site In the meantime though here are a few pictures of his day. More on Flickr, or subscribe to the photocast
And a few of us with Moreno, and Sandra's mum talking to my parents in Florida over Skype with video:
We weighed Moreno for the first time today. Not sure why we haven't done it before - maybe because when we got him we would have got depressed as he was so thin
Anyway it is his first birthday on Saturday so we weighed him this morning - a very solid, healthy 5 kilo's!!!
Over the last 4 weeks I have intentionally relaxed the diet and exercise regime. Partly I needed to give my body a break, but also I wanted to see what happened to my weight with a more 'normal' month of eating, socialising and exercise. The good news is that it remained the same.
I am just slightly above what they say is a good weight for my height, but looking at things realistically I am probably still 14 lbs away from what I think is an achievable body shape.
So that is the focus - pick up the exercise, cut back on the food and at the same time I really need to ramp up the exercises I need to do to keep my neck, shoulder, back and knee in working order.
I had a good weekend - cleared down a lot of blog and internet stuff, and have really cut back on the amount of sites etc that I either maintain or participate in. I have a couple of things left to do this week and then I think I will be in really good shape.
